Crohns Disease

Crohns disease can involve any part of entire GI tract from the oral cavity to Anal canal. Crohns disease of small bowel is a chronic inflammatroty condition of small bowel charecterised by Small bowel strictures, Pain abdomen, obstruction, bleeding and weight loss.

It diagnosis requires specialised tests like Capsule endoscpy (put a pic) small bowel enteroscopy, Ct enetroclysis etc.

Its managed by a combination of lowresidue diet and immunomodulatory drugs such as steroids, Azathioprine, salazopyrine.

Surgery is such as stricturoplasty, small bowel resection, stricture dilatation is usually done for patients with h intractable pain and obstruction.
